CNC Machining 42CrMo Steel Parts
42CrMo Steel Belongs To Plastic Die Steel In Material Classification. It Has Good Mechanical Properties And Machinability. It Is Widely Used. There Are Mainly Two Types Of Materials, Plate And Round Bar. Plate Is Used For Production And Processing Of Dies And Mould And Round Rod For Direct Processing Of Mechanical Parts , Which Has Been Recognized By The Industry.
42CrMo Steel Belongs To Ultra-High Strength Steel With High Strength And Toughness, Good Hardenability And No Obvious Temper Brittleness. It Has High Fatigue Limit And Multiple Impact Resistance After Quenching And Tempering Treatment, And Good Low Temperature Impact Toughness. Large And Medium-Sized Plastic Moulds With Certain Strength And Toughness Are Suitable For Manufacturing 42CrMo steel.
Chemical Composition
Carbon C: 0.38~0.45%
Silicon Si: 0.17~0.37%
Manganese Mn: 0.50~0.80%
Sulfur S: Allow Residual Content ≤0.035%
Phosphorus P: Allowable Residual Content ≤0.035%
Chromium Cr: 0.90~1.20%
Nickel Ni: Allowable Residual Content ≤0.30%
Copper Cu: Allowable Residual Content ≤0.30%
Molybdenum Mo: 0.15~0.25%
Mechanical Properties
Hardness: Annealed, 255~207HB,
The Indentation Diameter Is 3.8~4.2mm;
Quenching: ≥60HRC
The Hardness, Strength And Toughness Of Cr12MoV Plate After Quenching And Quenching And Tempering Are Higher Than Cr12. The Work With Diameter Below 300~400mm Can Be Completely Hardened, And The Quenching Deformation Is Small, But The High Temperature Plasticity Is Poor.
Cr12MoV Sheet Is Mostly Used To Manufacture a Variety Of Molds And Tools With Large Cross Sections, Complex Shapes And Heavy Working Loads.
Cryogenic Treatment
The 42CrMo Steel Is Cryogenically Treated, And The Cryogenic Treatment Can Cause The Quenched Martensite To Precipitate Highly Dispersed Ultrafine Carbides, Which Are Then Converted Into Carbides After Low Temperature Tempering At 200 °c.
Martensite Without Cryogenic Treatment, After Low Temperature Tempering, Precipitates Only a Small Amount Of Carbides In Some Localized Areas.
Cr12MoV Sheet Is a Low Temperature Chemical Heat Treatment Method. On The Basis Of Maintaining The High Hardness And High Wear Resistance Of Cr12MoV Sheet, The Adhesion Resistance Of Low Temperature Chemical Heat Treatment Layer Commonly Used In Ion Nitriding, Gas Nitrocarburizing And Salt Bath Thiocyanate Is Used. .
The Three Kinds Of Low-Temperature Chemical Heat Treatment Layers Have Significant Impact-Resistance, Especially The Salt Bath Thiocyanate.
The Cr12MoV Sheet Stainless Steel Vessel Tensile Mold Has a Service Life Of More Than 30,000 Pieces After Gas Nitrocarburizing Treatment, Which Is More Than 10 Times Longer Than That Of Conventional Quenching And Tempering.
